This message announces information and procedures for commissioned officers, on active service or in an active–status, requesting to continue on active duty after a mandatory removal/retirement date, both abbreviated as MRD. This message applies to all Regular Army (RA), Army National Guard (ARNG)/Army National Guard of the United States, and U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) commissioned officers in the Grades of O–6 To O–1. This message does not apply to warrant Officers.
