1. ARMY DIRECTIVE 2024-12, PROMOTION AND FROCKING TO SERGEANT MAJOR, 10 DEC 24. This policy applies to RA and USAR noncommissioned officers (NCOs). The purpose of this AD is to place Sergeants Major Academy (SGM-A) students into a promotable status upon graduation with an ability to frock to SGM upon their first duty assignment.  Beginning with the FY 25 MSG Evaluation Board, MSGs selected to attend Class 77 of the SGM-A will graduate in June 2027 in a promotable status with a sequence number corresponding to their Order of Merit (OML) status from the previous year’s CSM/SGM Evaluation Board. The promotion selection process will remain merit based.
