2025 AMERICAN LEGION SPIRIT OF SERVICE AWARD (MILPER 25-031). From HRC
Awards and Decorations Branch: This is a reminder that nominations from
each Army Command, Army Service Component Command, Direct Reporting
Unit, and HQDA Principal Agency are due to HRC NLT 17 Apr 25. The award
will recognize an enlisted member, E-5 and below, from each branch of
the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard,
Space Force, and the National Guard Bureau) for outstanding military
performance and volunteer service that he/she performs off-duty in a
local community. Members of the Reserve Components are eligible for the
award if recommended by his or her branch of service. The main criteria
for consideration of the American Legion’s Spirit of Service Award
should be the level of volunteer community service, such as coaching,
working with kids, feeding the hungry, or volunteer service that the
